For those looking to make an easy, festive
Thanksgiving decoration for the home, making a Thanksgiving turkey candle could be a solution. Creating a glowing, colorful turkey candle can be done in a relatively short time using just a few basic supplies, including a small glass jar, tissue paper, Mod Podge (an acid-free glue), crafting beads and tea lights.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IGf4KLlju4
Thanksgiving turkey candles can be lit and placed throughout the home before Thanksgiving dinner guests arrive, creating a beautiful holiday display.
Step1: Gather Supplies
---------------------------------------------------------------------
In order to put together a Thanksgiving turkey candle, you will need to gather some supplies. You will need a brush, Mod Podge, a glue gun, scissors, red, orange and yellow tissue paper and a wooden doll head. You will also need a glass vase, tea lights and beads.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IGf4KLlju4
Step 2: Create the Turkey Candle Base
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Begin by brushing Mod Podge over the entire glass vase. Tear up small pieces of the red and orange tissue paper and affix them to the vase, covering it entirely. Next, using your brush, add an additional layer of Mod Podge on top of the tissue paper. Allow the vase to dry for approximately 45 minutes.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IGf4KLlju4
Step 3: Create Turkey Head and Feathers
---------------------------------------------------------------------
While your turkey candle base is drying, you can begin working on the candle's turkey head and feathers. Using your hot glue gun, affix two black beads onto the wooden doll's head to create the turkey's eyes. Then, fold a piece of yellow tissue paper in half and cut out a small triangle. Glue the turkey "beak" onto the doll's head.

To make the turkey tail feathers, cut the red and orange tissue paper into long strips. Fold the strips in half and twist the ends to create a feathered look.

Using the glue gun, glue the tissue paper turkey feathers onto the side of the jar. Then, take the newly-created turkey head and glue that onto the opposite side of the jar. Light the tea light candle and drop it into the jar.
