SDCard - Proof Of Concept

By m13

So I met my goal as stated here: forum.xda-developers.com In this video you will see the Nook Tablet booting from SDCard into Android. Every single partition with the exception of the "boot" partition has been merged into a single partition which makes it very easy to work with. The device is booting into Android 2.3 with a custom ROM allowing extra features. As proof that everything is working, I wipe the device, boot from sdcard, then show the results of the wipe. The SDCard is divided into 2 partitions. 1 partition is the FAT32 BOOT, the , the second partition is EXT4 SYSTEM. SYSTEM is a non-standard format for Android devices. This particular SYSTEM has no /data or /cache mount. they are all located in the /SYSTEM partition. Utilizing this SDCard requires 4 Gigs and a direct image wipe of the SDCard root. The system partition can be expanded to as large as you would like. At the start of the day, I was going to demonstrate the use of the modchip I had developed based on the Atmel ATTiny2313 to unlock the bootloader. The mod-chip was called UnBrickable Modchip and required opening the device. However, nemith devised a much better way of unlocking the bootloader to allow a custom kernel to run from SDCard. Credits: bauwks - for the non-modchip based crack xIndirect -for providing knoledge and support Loglud - for sending a tablet to me. Pokeyi9000 - for locating the UART port hkvc - for showing how to hack uboot Problems in this build: wifi does not work
This is a Proof of Concept Exploit which upload your SDCard list of files into a webhost. It is just for showing you how easily it is.
