Buy the Ampkit here... http://www.nevadamusic.co.uk/Computer-Music/MIDI-Equipment-and-Peripherals/MIDI-USB-and-Firewire-Interfaces/sc1569/p9635.aspx With this AmpKit interface from Peavey, you can plug your guitar into your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad and jam anywhere with high quality guitar and bass tones right in the palm of your hand. Simply connect the AmpKit interface into your mobile device, plug in your guitar and headphones/amp, download AmpKit from the Apple apps store and start rocking! The Amp Kit Link interface features a 1/4" jack input, suitable for guitars and bass and a 1/8" mini-jack stereo output, which can be connected to headphones, amplifiers, or powered speakers. Unlike other iPhone/iPod guitar interfaces, the AmpKit Link requires two AAA batteries to power it's headphone amplifier. At first, this might sound like a disadvantage, but trust us it's not...the clever circuitry inside the AmpKit Link offers a better quality output signal and eliminates the "cross talk" interference that can occur with other iPhone/iPad interfaces.

After purchasing this interface, you will need to download the software of your choice from the Apple apps store. Although this interface is compatible with all iPhone based guitar software, Peavey recommend their AmpKit software. You can download a free version of this cool bit of software from the apple apps store. The basic free version contains a couple of amps to get you started, but you can easily add a whole host of virtual amps, pedals and mics for a couple of quid each. Peavey's Amp Kit software also allows you to record direct to you iPhone/iPad as well as jamming along with songs on your iTunes!

by Gig Stig Every time I meet up with my musician buddies I seem to be the only one in the room that doesn't know about or hasn't actually got the latest piece of guitar based phone gadgetry. I appear to be the only person amongst my group of music mates that doesn't have an iPhone and still thinks that Android apps was one of the alien monsters from Doctor Who ... So when I heard about the Peavey Ampkit Link for the iPhone/iPad/iTouch I mentioned it in passing and was greeted with a great deal of interest and enthusiasm from all my mates down at the local drinking hostelry wanting to know more. I explained that the Peavey Ampkit Link allows guitar players to play their guitar through the iPhone/iPad/iTouch and to utilise the effects from the Peavey Amp application. "This means ..." I explained, "that you can play your guitar via the iPhone and connect the iPhone to either headphones or for example your home stereo system ..." Eyebrows were raised - as much by the fact that I actually knew about this clever gadget, as they were impressed by the Peavey AmpKit Link ... More and more neat, pocket sized solutions are appearing that will allow musicians to utilise every day gadgets and connect their instrument of choice to them for creative purposes. Having now tried the Peavey AmpKit app and browsed the Peavey on-line AmpStore, I have to say that software guitar amplifier emulation is getting better and better ... Will we see the day in the not too distant future where a guitar player turns up at a gig with just his guitar and an Iphone ... ? The Peavey AmpKit is surprisingly good, so why not utilise the software range by investing in this clever box of tricks that allow you to hook-up your guitar and play into the small hours of the night ...
