MobiTourist

mobiTourist is an android application that uses smart-phone capabilities including GPS to guide both domestic and foreign tourists by providing useful information during tours on the best destinations around the country.
Users of the app will be able see the directions to the destination they choose to go to displayed on the inbuilt android map. Detailed information on the destinations are provided. Users can also choose to use the internet to load image galleries for the destinations they are viewing.

It is also packed with tools that people are likely to need during the tours.
Such tools include a an English to Swahili common words and phrases tranlsation. The user can click on the translation to hear it out loud and get the pronunciation.

Another one of it's useful tools is the directory with categories of phone numbers for example police posts , hospital, embassies among other contacts that tourists might find useful. Most of the tools of the app do not require internet access but others like , loading location on map, hotel booking, comments on physical destinations require internet access.
