Heart Rate Monitor

In this video, I demonstrate the "Instant Heart Rate" application for Android on a Samsung Galaxy S II. "Instant Heart Rate" makes use of your phone's LED flash and camera to measure your heart rate. Your heart rate by placing your finger over the camera/flash. As your heart beats, and the oxygen content of your blood changes, the amount of reflected light changes. By measuring these fluctuations, we can determine your heart rate. This application uses a similar principle to medical pulse oximeters:
