HealthMash is a semantic search engine for health information. You can search health concerns, signs and symptoms, tests and treatments, drugs and alternative medicine approaches for any of your health searches. All these come from trusted sources, so you are not going to meet irrelevant information.
The original site can be found at http://healthmash.com/ and this smartphone version is a hundred per cent equivalent of the website. There is an iPhone and an Android version as well.

The app can be rotated in all directions, so you can use it horizontally as well, like so. This enables enhanced readibility on the screen and imporved handling of the bigger keyboard.

Hitting the search button you are guided to the main screen of the application, supporting five tabs. The first one, symbolized by a book, is the option of general results.

Moving on, our second tab with the camera is of course dedicated to image results, and the third one for videos.

The fourth, 'Explore' gives further insight to your search, more thoroughly than direct results on the first tab. This is the semantic search part and here you can refine your investigation according to various topics, arranged in boxes. The first box is 'Related Concepts' and as you can see through our example, there are synonyms, broader ad narrower terms are given to this search example. Scrolling down the next topic is 'Health Concerns', moving on it's 'Test and Treatments', then 'Drugs and Sustances', concluding in 'Alternative Medicine'.

Every box ends with a 'Show More' option at the end, clicking them the box extends as so, opening further results in the category - in case you haven't found what you were looking for.

The fifth tab is 'Contents'. This is yet another type of search, this is a sort of combination of the previous two searches in a more comapct form. Use this if you have a direct purpose for your search, other than gaining knowledge about a topic. Results are arranged in dynamic sub-topics that are relevant to the original topic. This is a more to the point search type than the 'Explore' option, but more a more descriptive one than the general searches. It is really up to your taste and purpose of choosing which searchtype is the best for you.

Our penultimate option is symbolised by a magnifying glass in the top right corner. Clicking it will open the search bar if you want to continue your search with another query. This can be opened any time whichever tab you are using at the moment.
