Ever find that Checkers just got plain old boring or found that Chess was too serious and complicated to remember how each piece was supposed to move? Us too, so Fertang was invented. Fertang is a cross between Chess and Checkers. As easy to learn and simple to play like Checkers, but can be as strategically challenging as Chess and also a lot of fun.
The pieces are shaped to indicate the direction that the piece can travel. So, if you have a square piece it can only move in a square direction, if you have a triangle it can only move diagonally and if you have a circle it can move in any direction. Each piece can move only one square until an opponent's piece is captured. If a single piece of your opponents piece is captured, you may then move your piece up to 2 squares at a time in the direction governed by its shape. If your 2 piece is then captured by your opponent with a single piece, then that piece may move up to 3 squares in a single move and so on. The objective of the game is for you to make 3 towers of at least 5 pieces before your opponent. As an added twist however, once a piece reaches at least 5 pieces high it remains on the same square on the board and you have to play around it!!
