Today Sony announced something that has already been talked about, their Sony Vaio Z Series notebook. The notebook is a really high end yet portable 13.1-inch 1600x900 business notebook computer. The biggest thing about the notebook is the dock that connects to it using a USB 3.0 Intel Light Peak port. It's actually an external AMD graphics card and a Blu-ray drive which just shows what Light Peak can do.
Today Intel announced the future of their Intel Atom processors. As you know Windows 8 will be designed more for tablets with the Metro user interface. And it also supports ARM processors so Intel has some pretty big competition now. So Intel is going to launch their Clover Trail series Intel Atom processors with their Cloverview chip. The chip will use less power and use the 32nm process. The chips should arrive around the same time Windows 8 arrives next year.
Today T-Mobile announced a new smartphone called the MyTouch 4G Slide. It's been previously leaked and it's pretty much a high end Android phone with a slide out keyboard. It has a WVGA display, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and HTC Sense 3.0. It will have a 1.2GHz dual core chip and T-Mobile says it has the best smartphone camera which is 8MP. It will cost $200 when it arrives in July.
