Dr. Joshua Miele demonstrates the WearaBraille, a new virtual wireless Braille keyboard, as an input device to an iPhone running the built-in VoiceOver screen reader. The technology was developed at the Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute by Dr. Miele and engineering fellow Owen Edwards, and presented at CSUN (The Annual International Technology & Persons with Disabilities Conference) in 2010 and 2011.
The project described was supported by the Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute and by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research.
